View the photo album of the La Rolland 125th anniversary festivities. An inauguration ceremony was held on November 30, 2006, where all employees were invited to officially launch the La Rolland 125th anniversary festivities. • Hoisting of the flag and creation of the monument >>> Celebrations began with the hosting of the official flat on the La Rolland building. A commemorative monument was also created for the occasion. • Presentation of the monument and Open house day >>> Open house for current and retired employees and their families at the Rolland plant and Cascades Transformation Centre (CTC). May 4, in the afternoon, several dignitaries were present during this commemorative day to honour the founding on May 1, 1882, of "La compagnie de papier Rolland Limitée". • Exhibition at the Old Train Station in Saint-Jérôme >>> Exhibition on La Rolland at the Old Train Station in Saint-Jérôme. • "La Grande Tablée" celebration for current and retired employees >>> During the 19th century in Quebec, at the time of the summer solstice, it was customary to get all villagers together for what was called "La Grande Tablée". This event celebrated ever since on June 24 and associated with Saint-Jean-Baptiste day is still celebrated with so much conviction, that we have chosen to celebrate the 125th anniversary of La Rolland on this date. It is in memory of one of the most famous picnics at La Rolland, in 1916 on the land of the Gray Nuns in the middle of the village of Saint-Jérôme, that we organized the new La Rolland picnic during the Jérô-fête, part of the Estivales de Saint-Jérôme. A number of activities were planned throughout the day, including an outdoor concert, a marching band and a parade.
